Guv praises state govt's role in Jharkhand's development

Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmed today said the state government has made serious and constructive efforts for an all-round development within a short span of time.

Addressing the Assembly on the first day of the budget session, Ahmed said that his state government, which took over in July last year, has initiated steps to eradicate poverty to strengthen people economically ensuring their participation in the development.

As per the all-round developmental yardstick, the Governor said, the state government was on the path of development through clean, transparent and sensitive governance.

He also underlined the works taken up by the government in the rural development, irrigation, education, health, environment, drinking water, welfare of dalits, minorities and in other areas.
 

He further emphasised on the government's determination to provide basic as well as technical education to the youth to prepare them for modern employment.

To combat extremism, the Governor said the police personnel were equipped with sophisticated weapons, protective gadgets and buildings to house police stations and police lines were under construction.

Besides, he added, 59 surrendered naxalites were rehabilitated in Hazaribagh Open Jail with a provision for them to with their families.

He said work is on to enable the people to file "Online FIR". The governor also expressed happiness that social harmony was maintained.
