Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana ESL Narasimhan, Union minister Mansukh Mandaviya, former Union Minister and BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya were among prominent personalities who participated in the International Yoga Day celebrations here today.
Narasimhan, who took part in the Yoga day event held at Raj Bhavan, performed yoga asanas along with school children and others.
Yoga helps in promoting sound physical and mental health, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Mansukh Mandaviya said.
The Union minister attended the International Yoga Day event organised at the Gachibowli stadium here, a state government release said.
Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali and other state ministers were present, it added.
Dattatreya, state BJP president K Laxman and other BJP leaders participated in the yoga day, organised by Jai Bharat Foundation in association with Telangana Yoga Association at Sanjeevayya Park on the banks of the Hussain Sagar lake.

Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his initiatives in promoting yoga, Dattatreya said the ancient system offers multiple benefits to its practitioners.
Yoga is not related to any religion, he said.
The International Yoga Day was celebrated at various Central and state government offices.
