Guwahati short film fest concludes

The three-day festival that ended on Sunday screened some exclusive short films from across the country and abroad, including a 'Golden Jubilee Package' from Film and Television Institute of India.

Besides wining the Golden Rhino for the fest film, Bhaskar Jyoti Dutta's "Painful Bliss" also bagged a Silver Rhino for best screenplay in the Northeast shorts competition.

Deepjyoti Handique won the best director's trophy for "Bibhranta Electron" while the best editing award went to Jubaraj Barua, Nipan Talukdar and Rakesh Gogoi for "The Line between You and Me Is Blink", which makes an innovative attempt to portray the life of an adolescent.

 

The best cinematography trophy went to Nagen Baishya for "Anutapta".

In the non-competitive sections, Spirit Audience Awards went to "Ek Tha Main" by Paras Chakrabarti from Whistling Woods and "Cockroach" by Luke Eve from Australia.

Bollywood director Onir, theatre personality Cyrus Dastur, National Award winning director Sanjeev Hazarika and this year's National Award winning film critic Manoj Barpujari were members of the jury headed by senior filmmaker Gautam Bora.

National Award Winning film "I Am" was also screened during the festival.
