Six people have been arrested and a large quantity of contraband and illegal liquor seized in two separate incidents here, police said on Thursday.
Four men, identified as Alam, Manveer, Ashu and Raj, were caught with 8-kg ganja in Kavi Nagar, said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kalanidhi Naithani.
The accused were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and sent to jail, he said.
In the other incident, two persons were arrested in sector 4/5 Vaishali and 145 cartons of illegal liquor seized on Wednesday, the officer said.
The accused, identified as Parmarth and Tek Chand, were booked under the Excise Act, he said.
