Habitat Technology Group, an NGO in the shelter sector in India, is celebrating 30 years in housing sector by initiating various programmes, including setting up of a Bamboo Design school here.
The school aims at sustainable development and utilization of bamboo resources in Kerala through scientific management and stakeholders' participation.
It will also promote bamboo-based building technologies, development of a workforce of architects, engineers, artisans, and masons for such technologies, Habitat Technology Group founder G Shankar told reporters here.
Habitat is holding a series of programmes, including a four-day exhibition on affordable housing to mark its three decade long contributions.
