HAFED has recorded highest-ever profit of Rs 135 crore in 2016-17 besides carrying out largest procurement of paddy at 18.42 lakh metric tonnes (MT).
Haryana State Co-operative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited Chairman Harvinder Kalyan said the Rs 135 crore (estimated) profit is more than twice of Rs 53.40 crore made in 2015-16.
In an official release here today, he said the Federation delivered 100 per cent of the custom milled rice against the paddy procured to the Food Corporation of India (FCI).

Apart from this, HAFED sugar mill, Assandh in Karnal crushed the highest-ever 37.50 lakh quintals of sugarcane, which is expected to procure profit of Rs 4.28 crore, which would also be the highest-ever profit earned by this mill, he said.
He said that HAFED procured 25.11 lakh MT wheat during Rabi-2016, which was 37 per cent of the total quantity procured by all procurement agencies in the State.
During Rabi-2017, HAFED procured 26.84 lakh MT wheat, which is the highest among all the procuring agencies in Haryana and represents nine per cent of the wheat procured for FCI throughout the country, Kalyan said.
