The Hailakandi district administration will hear public grievances every Tuesday from April three next, an official said today.
"I receive a lot of complaints and memoranda from members of the public and organisations pertaining to different departments. So I have decided to devise a permanent mechanism where people can talk about their problems directly with officials who can take down complaints and forward it to the concerned departments if they cannot be resolved on the spot", Hailakandi Deputy Commissioner Adil Khan said in a press release.
Tracking of complaints received would be monitored regularly so that they are disposed in a systematic manner, the release said.
The process, besides offering speedy redressal of grievances, also gives an opportunity to review the performance and progress of various government schemes and projects, it said.
Every Tuesday, the process will begin with registration from 9.30 am to 10 am followed by hearing of public grievances by officials.
Efforts will be made to resolve the matter on the spot. In cases where it is not possible, the concerned departments will draw a schedule for disposing the matter, it said.
