The hailstorm and rains hit Keolari tehsil headquarters and villages Banthia, Devkarantola, Bineki, Makarwada, Mungapar among others causing damage to houses and the standing crop, the sources said.
Keolari's Sub Divisional Magistrate Koushlendra Vikram Singh said the revenue department officials were assessing the damage to the crop and houses in the area and efforts were on to provide compensation to the affected persons.
Seoni Collector Ajit Kumar and other officials have reached the affected area.
