Hailstorm predicted in HP's lower, mid hills

The MeT office today warned of hailstorms at isolated places in lower and mid hills in Himachal Pradesh with rains or snowfall predicted at isolated places in these areas over the next four days.

High altitude tribal areas of the state witnessed another spell of moderate snowfall while lower and mid hills experienced light rains at isolated places.

The MeT office said, high altitude tribal areas, mountain passes and adjoining areas recorded 10 cm to 15 cm of fresh snow while Udaipur in Lahaul and Spiti received 1 cm of snow.

Shimla, which was lashed by high velocity winds recorded 2 mm rains while Chamba, Manali, Bhuntar and Seobagh recorded 1 mm rain.
 

Intense cold wave conditions gripped tribal areas and Keylong and Kinnaur recorded a low of minus 6.5 degrees Celsius and 1. 4 degrees Celsius respectively. Manali shivered at 3 degrees Celsius

Night temperature soared to 18.3 degrees Celsius at Nahan while Solan recorded a low of 6.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar 7.9 degrees Celsius and Shimla and Sundernagar 8.2 degrees Celsius each.

Nahan was hottest during the day also with maximum a temperature at 26.3 degrees Celsius, while Una, Solan and Sundernagar recorded a high of 25.2 degrees Celsius,22.4 degrees Celsius and 22.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
