HAL Leadership Development Programme inaugurated

: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) today inaugurated a comprehensive one year Leadership Development Programme to help 30 senior executives understand the needs of the defence sector.

"We need to develop leadership in PSUs and competency mapping is a vital factor. HAL's initiative should bring about positive changes in all aspects of its functioning," Additional Secretary (Defence Production) at IIM, Ahmedabad, Ashok Kumar Gupta said.

HAL Chairman Dr R K Tyagi said the company is proud to be associated with the country's premium management institute and both organisations stand to gain with such initiatives.

"Our aim is to prepare today's generation to take on the challenges of tomorrow by exposing them to the best international practices on all operational fronts", a company press quoted him as having said.
 

IIM Officiating Director Professor Ajay Pandey explained the diverse activities of the institute, which he said strives for excellence whatever the field and would look after the special needs of HAL.

The participants would have international exposure and the subjects to be covered include business environment, individual and organisation among others, Pandey said.

The one-year programme to be conducted in seven phases comprises training at IIM-Ahmedabad interspersed with individual and group project work of topics relevant to HAL, Pandey said.
