Half-marathon on February 22

; The Dakshina Kannada Athletic Association (DKAA) and Nitte Educational Trust will jointly organise the 'Nitte Mangaluru half marathon-2015' tomorrow.

Half marathon would be held in various categories like open category (16 to 45 years), senior category (46- 60 years), veteran category (61 years and above), 5-Km run for college boys and girls, five Km run for high school boys, three Km run for high school girls, three Km run for primary school boys, two km run for primary school girls and open and non competitive 'Nama balipuga' (5-km fun run).

There was an overwhelming response from the general public for the event and a total of 14,650 persons have registered under different categories so far, DKAA President Manjunath Bhandary said in a release.
 

In all categories except 'fun run,' top finishers would be given prizes. The total cash prize would be Rs 5.71 lakh, he said.

Karnataka Athletic Association President G Parameshwara, District-in-Charge Minister Ramanath Rai and Nalin Kumar Kateel MP would take part in the event.
