A delegation of Uttar Pradesh BJP leaders today met Principal Secretary Home and handed over a CD of the Hamirpur firing incident, in which two villagers were killed after a girl immolated herself on being teased by some youths.
"We have demanded CBI or judicial probe into the Hamirpur incident, where a teenager girl committed suicide after being teased by SP goons following which police had fired on the protesters killing two," BJP state president Laxmikant Bajpai told reporters.
Two villagers were killed in mob violence and police firing in Hamirpur district after a girl immolated herself on being teased by some youths last week, prompting the state government to suspend the Superintendent of Police and order a magisterial inquiry.

Bajpai said that the party will come on the streets if a just probe is not done in the incident.
"If justice is not done, the party will come out on roads to protest the atrocities on common men. We have also sought time from President Pranab Mukherjee to apprise him on the situation in the state," he said.
The situation in the state could be gauged from the fact that in 622 incidents in past one year, policemen were themselves beaten up, he claimed.
Bajpai said that state unit will give its report to Union Home Minister Rajnath SIngh and party president Amit Shah on the situation prevailing in the state.
