Handicrafts and gifts fair draws large visitors

The handicrafts and gifts fair IHGF being held here drew a large crowd today.

The fair was inaugurated by Union Textiles Minister Santosh Gangwar yesterday.

The fair is being organised by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) and around 2,750 exhibitors are participating to showcase their home, lifestyle and fashion products. The fair will be open till October 18.

The product categories on display include houseware, tableware, kitchenware, hotelware, home furnishing, home textiles, linens and made ups, festive decor, among others.

One of major attractions of the fair is cultural performances by Indian artists, said Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director of EPCH.
 

"There is a very close link between the culture and handicrafts of India. Therefore, the cultural performance and music will definitely relevant to the trade fair," said Kumar.

Fashion shows were also organized on second day of the fair.
