Handloom works of seven states are on the display at the ongoing 17-day handloom exhibition in Kakinada.
As many as 75 stalls from seven states will exhibit their products during the expo, which opened yesterday at the Kullayee chervu exhibition ground, district Public Relations Officer M Francis said.
"In Indian culture, handloom culture has attained a special place beside securing importance at the world level. There is every need to encourage this sector and we must do it for the development of handloom weavers," he said.

Jeevan Jyothi Rural Development society is sponsoring the exhibition.
Society's secretary Athin Kumar said, stalls of Lucknow, Warangal, Rajashtan, works like Kalamkari, Mangalagir have been exhibited there. Hyderabad's famous pearls, white and black metal toys, rose wood panels and toys are also on the display.
