The body of renowned Tamil Muslim devotional music singer and DMK propagandist Nagore E M Hanifa who died in Chennai yesterday, was laid to rest at Nagore in the district today.
A large number of people and DMK cadre paid their last respects and participated in the funeral procession.
The body was laid to rest at Maraickarpalli mosque in Nagore.

Hanifa moved to Chennai after the death of his wife and lived with his son Naushad Ali.
Hanifa (90) had died at his residence in Chennai last night.
He had sung a number of Tamil Muslim devotional songs and was a leading propagandist of DMK for more than five decades.
