Screenwriter-producer Bryan Fuller has revealed that the psychological thriller-horror series "Hannibal" may be renewed as a feature film.

Fuller said the series, which was axed by NBC in June after only three of its 13-episode of third season had aired, is still looking for a streaming service, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"NBC allowed us to do some crazy stuff for three years. We are still looking... We don't have a lot of answers and we're looking at the possibility of a feature.

"So we have Hugh (Dancy) and Mads (Mikkelsen), who are very committed to the show and would love to continue with the show. The way this season ends, we have the opportunity for a break and hopefully we'll be able to find a way to bring Mads and Hugh back to you," Fuller said.

The showrunner said Amazon wanted to do a fourth season but their desire to do it quickly did not work for its creative team.

"(They) wanted to do it very quickly and I wanted to be able to get all the scripts in advance before we started shooting a fourth season and their desire to put it out immediately was impossible for us to do," he said.
