Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced to accord the status of police district to Hansi sub division.
"We want decentralisation as it helps in running the administration smoothly," he said, adding "to begin with Hansi would be a separate police district".
Khattar, who was addressing a public meeting at new Grain Market here in Hisar district, said Hansi, which is famous for historic relics, would soon be developed as a 'Heritage City'.

Around Rs 92 crore has already been spent on development projects in Hansi assembly constituency, Khattar said.
He said, "Like the favourable decision of the Supreme Court on the issue of Sutlej Yamuna Link Canal, the decision on Hansi-Bhutana multi-purpose Link Canal would also be in favour of Haryana".
He said SYL is a "lifeline of the state and with the Supreme Court decision in favour of Haryana, the state would get its due share of water".
On the occasion, presidents of five Khap Panchayats also honoured the Chief Minister for "effectively pursuing the SYL issue in the Supreme Court".
Khattar said the work on Rohtak-Hansi railway line, which was lying pending for many years, has also been started.
