Har Assembly pays to former Union Minister, freedom fighter

Tributes were paid to former Union Minister P Shiv Shankar and freedom fighter Kundan Singh on the second day of the Haryana Assembly's ongoing Budget Session today.

Shankar, who had served as Governor of Sikkim and Kerala, and Singh passed away yesterday.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said in Shankar's death the nation had lost a seasoned politician and able administrator.

He also paid homage to freedom fighter Kundan Singh of Khanda village in Sonepat district.

Speaker Kanwar Pal read out the obituary resolutions and paid tributes.

Congress Legislature Party leader Kiran Chaudhary and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) MLA Parminder Dhull also paid tributes on behalf of their respective parties.
 

The members of the House also observed a two-minute silence to pay homage to the departed souls.
