Haryana Assembly today paid tributes to former President APJ Abdul Kalam, President Pranab Mukherjee's wife Surva Mukherjee and Udhampur terror attack- martyr BSF constable Rocky on the opening day of the Monsoon session.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar paid tributes to the departed souls, which was followed by Congress' Legislative Party leader Kiran Choudhary and Haryana Janhit Congress chief Kuldeep Bishnoi and Speaker Kanwar Pal.
Later, members of the House observed a two-minute silence in their memory.

He was an inspiration and motivational icon for the youth and the children. Till his last breath, he was doing what he loved the most, interacting with young Indians and igniting their minds with scientific temperament and spirit of inquiry, said the CM and other members of the House, the obituary stated.
The House also paid tributes to four policemen and three civilians, who lost their lives in Gurdaspur terror attack on July 27, and strongly condemned such activities.
Tributes were also paid to senior political leaders, freedom fighters and martyrs who passed away after the Budget session of the Assembly in March this year.
The House paid tributes to departed souls including former Union Minister of State Chand Ram, ex-Haryana Minister Sham Dass Mukhija, former MLAs Amir Chand and DK Bansal, and Hardai Devi, mother of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Tributes were paid to Lt Kiran Shekhawat, the woman officer, who died in the line of duty, along with BSF constable Rocky who was killed in Udhampur terror attack.
The House also paid tributes to 11 labourers who died after a retaining wall of a stone crusher collapsed at Dholera village in Mahendergarh district earlier this month.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister objected to a word used by Congress leader Kiran Choudhary while referring to the Dholera incident, saying the occasion was just to pay tributes to the departed souls and other things related to the incident can be taken up later. The word was expunged from the proceedings.
