Haryana Assembly today paid tributes to senior BJP leader and Union minister Gopinath Munde who died in a road accident in New Delhi shortly after the formation of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
The House, on the opening day of its monsoon session, paid tributes to Munde along with other leaders who died since the last session in February.
Others to whom tributes were paid included former Haryana ministers Dhirpal Singh and Katar Singh Chhokar and former MLA Partap Singh Chautala.
The House also paid tributes to nine freedom fighters of the state and 12 soldiers from the state who sacrificed their lives while safeguarding and protesting the nation.
Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda led the House in paying tributes. Others who paid tributes included Speaker Kuldeep Sharma, Ashok Arora (INLD) and Anil Vij (BJP).
