The meeting was convened specifically to review the actions taken so far and to delineate a comprehensive and coordinated implementations strategy for the future, an official release said here.
Chaudhery reviewed the steps initiated by the Women & Child Development department for carrying out detail survey, inspection and registration of all child care institutions (CCIs) in Haryana.
The Chief Secretary was informed that as per the inspection there are 105 CCIs in the state of which 84 have applied for registration and the rest are being contacted personally for completing their registration.
He emphasised the need to ensure the safety, health and welfare of the inmates residing in the CCIs.
Since the police has appointed child welfare officers in each police station, Chaudhery said the names of these officers alongwith their mobile number should be sent to the Women & Child Development department at the earliest.
He further directed that a comprehensive training for these officers to sensitise them regarding problems of children and the law in this regard should be organised with the coordination of the WCD department within one month.
