Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma today said district-level committees have been constituted to investigate the matter of some 'self-financed' private schools "arbitrarily" hiking fee.
These committees would submit their reports within one week, he said during a meeting with senior officers of the state School Education Department here.
The committees would be headed by the Deputy Commissioner concerned. The other members would include the District Education Officer, the District Elementary Education Officer and the Block Development Officer posted at the district headquarter, the minister said.

"No private school would be allowed to hike fee arbitrarily. Some school managements arbitrarily hike fee in the name of providing socks, shoes, notebooks and transport facility, which is against the rules," he said.
The decision to set up the committees has been taken in the interest of parents of poor students, and legal action would be taken against schools that arbitrarily increase fee, Sharma added.
