Har Governor asks farmers to concentrate on quality products

Haryana Governor Jagannath Pahadia today asked farmers cultivating fruits, vegetables and grains to pay special attention towards quality of their produce.

Addressing the closing ceremony of 22nd Mango Mela here, he said farmers should make the state proud by increasing the quantity as well as quality of their crops.

Due to hard work of the state's progressive farmers, Haryana has become one of the leading states not only in production of food grains and milk, but also in production of fruits and vegetables, Pahadia said.

Expressing pleasure, he said due to their efforts, farmers of Haryana have bagged the Best Performing Award for the past six years under National Horticulture Mission and the state Horticulture Department has been honoured with Bangurian Award by the Ambassador of Israel.
 

The Governor urged participant farmers to utilise modern techniques to enhance quality of their mango produce.

About three thousand farmers belonging to Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh participated in the annual event.
