Har govt amends Regulation of Sale of Meat bye-law

Haryana government today amended the Haryana Municipal (Regulation of Sale of Meat) bye-law, 1976, thereby increasing the quantum of fine for its breach.

An official spokesperson said a proposal to this effect has been approved by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

As per the amendment, "any person who commits, or abets the commission or, a breach of any of these by-laws would, on conviction by a Magistrate, be punishable with a fine which would not be less than Rs 1000, and more than Rs 5000 and if the breach was a continuing one, with a further fine of Rs 500 for every day after the first during which the breach continues."
 

Earlier, it was was punishable with a fine of not less than Rs 25 and more than Rs 200, and if the breach was a continuing one, with a further fine of Rs 10 for every day after the first during which the breach continued.

He further said the Chief Minister also approved a proposal for shifting of villages Baland, Paharawar, Ritoli, Karontha, Mayna, Shimli and Kabulpur from the jurisdiction of Police Station, Rohtak to Police Station, Shivaji Colony, Rohtak.
