Buoyed up by the encouraging results in some districts, the Haryana government has earmarked a sum of more than Rs 500 crore in the current fiscal year for the District Plan scheme in the state.
This was disclosed by the Principal Secretary, Finance and Planning Department Sanjeev Kaushal while presiding over a meeting of five districts of Hisar division today, an official release said here.
Kaushal also reviewed the funds spent by various districts under the plan in 2008-09 and 2011-12.

Reviewing the funds received and funds spent by five districts of the Hisar division, Kaushal said that in 2008-09, 93.9 per cent of the funds in Bhiwani, 93.04 per cent in Fatehabad, 77.04 per cent in Hisar, 88.81 per cent in Jind and 75.8 per cent in Sirsa were spent.
Similarly, 91.78 per cent of the funds in Bhiwani, 85.45 per cent in Hisar, 82.49 per cent in Jind and 92.57 per cent in Sirsa were spent on development works in 2011-12.
Kaushal directed the project officers in all the five districts to deposit the remaining share of last year's funds in the treasury within one month and submit lists of the works to be undertaken.
