Har govt to frame policy for Haryanvi films

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said the state government would formulate a policy for promotion of Haryanvi language films and also announced that award-winning 'Pagdi-The Honour' will be made tax-free.

'Pagdi' is the first Haryanvi film which has won two national awards, he said. The film has also bagged the title of best film (Haryanvi) and has also won best supporting actor (female) award, he added.

The chief minister was speaking after the special screening of 'Padgi-The Honour', here, and announced a discretionary grant of Rs 10 lakh for the film. He also said the film would be made tax-free.
 

He said that more such movies should be directed and government would continue to encourage and support the production of such movies.

Directed by Rajiv Bhatia, the film showcases the Haryanvi culture in the best manner, he said, adding, Haryana has a very rich culture.
