Har: Rebate for village consumers paying power bills on time

The village consumers of Haryana paying their power dues on time will get rebates on their bills regularly paid for last one year.

Devender Singh, CMD of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam said here that consumers paying their bills regularly, and qualifying for the one-time settlement scheme, will be given one-time rebate at the rate of 10 per cent on the bills for last one year.

Consumers in villages, which opted pillar box system and got their electric meters shifted to pillar boxes will be entitled for additional rebate of 10 per cent, he said.
 

Singh said the 'one-time settlement scheme' for clearing arrears of bills has been made available in villages where minimum 50 per cent of households have regular connections and the meters are shifted outside the premises.

Low Voltage Distribution System (LVDS) will be erected in these villages, followed by installation of pillar boxes.

The villages which get erected pillar box system will get additional benefit of ensured power supply for 20 to 24 hours.

Under one-time settlement scheme, consumer can get total amount of arrear pertaining to the period before June 16, 2005 waived off under the arrear waiver scheme, Singh said.
