Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat today paid tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 97th birth anniversary, describing her as the most popular and successful woman leader of the world.
"Gandhi was the most popular and successful woman leader of the world. She was also scholarly and an efficient administrator who dedicated her entire life to the service of this nation. She made an invaluable contribution to the country's unity and integrity," he said in a statement.
"Remembering her will carry some meaning only when we follow the path of service to humanity shown by her," he said.
