One of the Harley Quinn spin-offs, starring Margot Robbie in the lead, is set to start shooting next January.
According to Flickering Myth, Robbie said the film, titled "Birds of Prey", will be "different" from "Suicide Squad".
The Oscar-nominated actor also said that "Birds of Prey" will be made with a "much smaller budget" for a DC movie. She reiterated that the movie would be rated R.
The film would see a vigilante team lead by Barbara Gordon (aka Batgirl) and her superhero friend Black Canary, along with Harley Quinn and various other female DC superheroes, fighting crime in Gotham and Metropolis.
Speaking of the project earlier this year, Robbie said that she has been working on it for three years, having originally pitched the film as "an R-rated girl gang film including Harley".
The film is still without a release date and DC is yet to comment.
Robbie is attached to play Quinn (she first played the character in "Suicide Squad") in three more projects, that she will topline.
