Singer Harry Styles surprised a young girl, Freya Lewis, who was seriously injured following the deadly attack at Ariana Grande's concert in Manchester on May 22, by making a phone call to her to tell he loved her.

According to the recovery blog post hosted on Freya's school website, the 14-year-old girl got a call from the former One Direction star shortly after coming out of sedation.

"Firstly, Freya came around enough from sedation to look at her Dad, blow him a kiss and smile. Then Dad cried. 'What could surpass that? I know you are thinking...

"Secondly, the phone rang, and it was Harry Styles. Freya woke up, Harry said he loved her, she said she loved him, then Dad said he loved him!! Harry, we salute you sir, Holmes Chapel is very proud of you," Freya's family said.

Freya, who was earlier in intensive care, has now been transferred to high dependency unit, which her family said, "is a massive positive step towards her recovery.
