Setting an example in maintaining cleanliness, Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Badal today swept some areas in her Ministry's premises and asked the employees to convert this drive into a national movement.
Badal visited various areas including library and canteen in the ministry and gave instructions to the staff on giving priority to cleanliness in the ministry.
"The cleanliness drive is to be converted into a national movement to ensure that the country presents a neat and clean image to tourists," she said.
Citing the example of western countries where citizens are fully conscious of the need to keep their surroundings neat and clean, the Minister said cleanliness is not just the duty of the government, it is also the moral obligation of all the citizens to keep their surroundings clean.
Minister also and advised the employees to ensure that all the areas in the Ministry are always well maintained and clean.
