Leila Gerstein, the creator of drama-comedy series "Hart of Dixie", has hinted that the show might be cancelled after the current fourth season.

There are three episodes left for the fourth season to end and Gerstein, in a series of tweets, hinted that it might be the last of the show that the fans would see, reported E! Online.

"The final three episodes of #HartofDixie begin tonight. Buckle up, I think you will enjoy the ride. Xo," so read one of her tweets.

"No one out there loves #HOD more than me," Gerstein said. "I would have gone 17 years! But I assure you, we prepared for this... And the finale will be tremendously satisfying to all," another tweet read.

No official statement is released by the network CW yet regarding the cancellation report.

Gerstein herself avoided to give direct comment on the matter, saying, "Well, I can't speak to that, as the decision to renew or cancel is out of my hands.

"I can tell the fans that this season is for you and you're going to love this season. No one is going to feel unsatisfied by the end. Obviously we hope for many, many more seasons but everyone will be happy with this season," she said.

"Hart of Dixie", which debuted back in September 2011, centres its story on a New York City doctor (Rachel Bilson) who moves to a small Alabama town.

The fourth and probably final season is scheduled to wrap later this month with next week episode titled "End of Days", while the March 27 finale is simply dubbed "Bluebell".
