The state of Haryana aims to become polythene-free.

To make the State polythene-free, directions have been issued to Haryana's Industries and Commerce department to find alternatives for polythene, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said today.

He was speaking at a workshop of members of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies in Panchkula, near here.

He said the state would have to be made pollution-free for which people would have to change their behaviour.

Haryana has claimed to have become kerosene-free as the supply of the fuel has been stopped under the public distribution system from April 1.
