Haryana allocates Rs 3,761 cr for SC welfare schemes

The Haryana government has allocated over Rs 3,000 for scheduled caste welfare schemes for the current financial year.

"The government has allocated Rs 3,761.20 crore, which is 20.90 per cent of the State Net Plan Outlay, under Scheduled Castes Sub Plan in the Annual Plan 2013-14," Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said at a function to celebrate 122nd birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar here today.

He said the government has already launched a scheme 'Dr Ambedkar Medhavi Chhatra Yojana' under which meritorious students belonging to Scheduled Castes are given annual scholarships ranging from Rs 4,000 to Rs 12,000.
