Haryana announces to enhance DA for pensioners

The Haryana government today decided to increase the rate of Dearness Allowance (DA) on revised basic individual and family pension by two per cent with effect from July 1, 2016.

The rate of DA has been enhanced on the pattern of the central government and as per recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, Finance Minister Abhimanyu said here.

The hike would entail additional financial liability of about Rs 10.84 crore per month on the state exchequer, he said.

In the current year, the additional financial liability for eight months, from July, 2016, to February, 2017, would be about Rs 86.68 crore, the minister added.
