Haryana Assembly pays tributes to Barnala, Jayalalitha

Haryana Assembly today paid tributes to former governor Surjit Singh Barnala and ex-Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha among others at the beginning of the Budget session here.

The members of the House also observed a two-minute silence to pay homage to the departed souls.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who is also the Leader of the House, paid tributes to Barnala and Jayalalitha among others.

Khattar also paid tributes to the freedom fighters and people from the state who had sacrificed their lives while safeguarding the unity and integrity of the country.

Assembly Speaker Kanwar Pal also read out obituary resolutions and paid tribute to the departed souls.
 

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ram Bilas Sharma, Leader of Opposition Abhay Singh Chautala and leader of Congress Legislature Party, Kiran Chaudhary also read obituary resolutions on behalf of their parties.

The freedom fighters who were paid homage in the House included Raghbir Singh of Chhara village in Jhajjar district, Ved Parkash Marwah of Ambala Cantt, Dariyao Singh of Khumba village of Hisar district and Bhagmal of Tikli village in Gurugram district.

The House also paid homage to martyrs of the state who had shown indomitable courage and sacrificed their lives while safeguarding and protecting the unity and integrity of the country.

Major Satish Dahiya of Banihari village in Mahendragarh district, Major Sanjeev Lather of Budha Khera Lather village in Jind district and Lt Sandeep Kumar of Silani Keso village of Jhajjar district.

The House also paid tributes to those brave soldiers and civilians who lost their lives in avalanches in different areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
