Haryana Assembly pays tributes to martyrs, Vinod Khanna

The Haryana Assembly paid tributes to the two soldiers who were beheaded by Pakistani forces along the Line of Control (LoC) and other martyrs including the 25 CRPF jawans who lost their lives in an attack by Maoists in Chhattisgarh.

The Assembly also paid tributes to veteran actors Vinod Khanna and Om Puri in its one-day special session today.

The members of House observed a two-minute silence to pay homage to freedom fighters and martyrs of Haryana and others.

Haryana Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ram Bilas Sharma moved the obituary resolutions and paid tributes to the departed souls. Speaker Kanwar Pal also paid his tributes.
 

Zakir Hussain of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and Kuldeep Sharma of Congress party also read obituary resolutions on behalf of their parties.

The House at the outset paid homage to noted actor and former Union Minister of State Khanna and also veteran actor Om Puri.

The House also paid homage to the 10 martyrs of Haryana who made supreme sacrifices while safeguarding and protecting the unity and integrity of the motherland.

Tributes were also paid to those soldiers who lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on April 27 and the two brave soldiers, who lost their lives in Krishna Ghati of Poonch district on May 1.

The House also paid tributes to those 25 brave soldiers of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) who lost their lives in a Naxal attack in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on April 24.

Tributes were also paid to freedom fighter of Haryana Chander Bhan of village Jeetpura, district Rewari.

The Haryana State Goods and Services Bill was passed unanimously today by the state Assembly today in the one-day- long special session.
