The ruling BJP in Haryana held a 'manthan shivir' in Morni Hills in Panchkula district on Wednesday to firm up the strategy for parliamentary and assembly elections next year, and decided to hold a mega rally to mark the completion of four years of the M L Khattar government.
Interestingly, the BJP meeting was held two days before the monsoon session of state assembly begins in Chandigarh.
Opposition parties are set to corner the Haryana government in the House on a range of issues including the SYL canal project and the law and order situation in the state.
In December last year, the Khattar government had organised a 'Chintan Shivir' at Timber Trail resort in Himachal Pradesh, inviting sharp criticism from opposition parties, who had dubbed the event an "excursion".
But Khattar had asserted that a "blueprint" of a New Haryana was prepared at the meeting.
In Morni Hills, the BJP decided to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the rally in Karnal on October 28, two days after the Khattar government completes four years in power, Haryana Transport Minister Krishan Lal Panwar said.
