Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said the entire Cabinet was united and collectively taking decisions for the welfare of people.
It has been the culture and tradition of the BJP to sit together and discuss issues, and then take decisions. The state Cabinet is sticking to this practice, he told reporters after unveiling a statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh at Panchkula on Martyrs' Day.
The slogan "learn to sacrifice your life for the nation" was given during the freedom struggle, but today, there is need for the slogan "learn to live for the country", the chief minister said.
This day is glorious and historical because it was on this day in 1931 that Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru sacrificed their lives for the nation, he said.
The nation is our motherland and "it is as dear to us as our mother", Khattar said.
Today, we are independent only because of the supreme sacrifice made by our freedom fighters, patriots and martyrs, he said.

"We got independence after a long struggle and it is our duty to always be ready to sacrifice our lives for the country," the chief minister said.
It would be a true tribute to the martyrs if "we learn to live for our country by rising above 'me', 'my home' and 'my family'", he said.
Earlier, the chief minister inaugurated the listing of M/S Tara Chand Logistic Solutions Ltd. online with the National Stock Exchange.
Congratulating representatives of the company, he said earlier the firm's scope was limited, but after getting connected online, the entire country would now look upon it.
Haryana is emerging as an economic and industrial power hub of the nation, he said.
"The state's economy is robust. More than 15 national highways pass through the state which would be beneficial for companies," Khattar said.
The economic strength of Haryana could be gauged from the fact that more than 50 per cent of four-wheelers and 60 per cent of two- wheelers in the country are produced in the state, he said.
The geographical location of Haryana is such that it is surrounded by the National Capital Region on three sides. The state can avail the big consumer market of this region, Khattar said
Therefore, Haryana is an ideal state for retailers. Gurugram and Faridabad are main industrial districts of the state and a logistic hub may be set up in Panchkula as it is connected with Himachal Pradesh, he added.
