Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Walgad today reviewed the arrangements being made for smooth conduct of the October 15 assembly polls in the state, and apprised District Election Officers and Returning Officers about various aspects of the Model Code of Conduct.
Walgad, who held a meeting via videoconferencing with the officers, asked them to ensure effective implementation of the poll code.
He directed the District Election Officers to hold district level meetings with all political parties and make them aware about the Model Code.

Polling to the 90-member Haryana assembly will be held on October 15 and counting will take place on October 19.
He said voter-verified paper audit trail (VVPAT) facility will be available in six assembly constituencies -- Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal, Thanesar, Gurgaon and Rohtak -- so as to provide a slip to voters bearing voting information after they exercise their franchise.
Walgad said this time the 'single window system' would be implemented in all assembly constituencies to provide all election-related services.
He said the Election Commission would soon start a campaign to motivate voters to cast their votes, and for this help of state icon Meghna Malik, a film and television actor, would be sought.
He said there would be a total ban on transfer of all officers and officials connected with the conduct of the election.
