Under fire over allegations of inaction during the Jat quota agitation, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today talked tough on law and order, saying if anyone had intentions to disturb peace, he should forget about it.
"This government belongs to 2.5 crore people of the state and it came to power with full majority. If somebody has any intention to disturb law and order and create environment against the government, he should forget it," Khattar said Winding up the debate on the Governor's address in the ongoing budget session in Haryana assembly.
"Jat agitation fell into the hands of some mischievous elements...I am not saying, all of them who were part of (Jat) agitation indulged in arson and loot. But some people under the guise of reservation, indulged in arson," Khattar said.

Admitting that the state government had possibly not anticipated how well the arsonists were prepared, Khattar maintained that they had dealt with the violence successfully
"It is possible that we could not estimate, how well they (arsonists) were prepared. We dealt with (violence) successfully. We called army, paramilitary force and we also deployed our own force at violence hit areas. Within in 3 days, situation was brought under control," he said.
Condoling the loss of 30 lives in the agitation, he said security personnel had fired shots wherever was necessary
"When such kind of incidents take place, then army and other force take decision on their own. Intention was not to cause any human and financial loss. But I regret to say that 30 people lost their lives in Jat stir," he said.
"In that process, some innocent people lost their lives and some who were guilty also lost lives but had the situation not been handled, the casualty could have been more," he said.
He said his government had announced compensation of Rs 10 lakh and government jobs to the family of innocent persons killed.
"Now we are working to root out the corruption at all
levels in the administration and have adopted zero tolerance policy against corruption. So far, I have visited more than 80 assembly constituencies and have made about 2000 announcements out of which 1100 either got completed or were in progress.
"The work on remaining announcements would be completed at the earliest as there is no dearth of funds for development projects," he said while describing corruption as "cancer".
Referring to the employment opportunities and investment, Khattar said that more than 400 MoUs with proposed investment of about Rs six lakh crore had been signed in global investor summit held this year in Gurgaon.
This would provide employment opportunity to about five lakh people in the state. The first phase of the same is being launched on November 1, when 'Swaran Jayanti' celebrations would begin in Haryana.
Under this, the government would make efforts to provide 100 hours employment to unemployed post graduates through entrepreneurs and ensure them Rs 9000 as supporting allowance.
He said people would get 24 hours power supply, provided they will pay their electricity bill regularly.
He urged them to be a part of 'Mahara Gaon Jagmag Gaon' scheme.
In order to ensure prosperity of farmers, the government has made several arrangements, he said.
The department concerned has been asked to calculate MSP of all crops including vegetable and fruits to ascertain the actual amount of cost and profit of crop, he said.
He also urged the people to opt Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY) so as to ensure better compensation in case of crop loss.
Haryana's Agriculture and Farmers Welare Minister OP Dhankar described the PMFBY the best ever insurance scheme so far introduced in the interest of farmers.
He said some political parties had opposed the scheme due to their vested interest.
Speaking on the occasion, Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu said that BJP government is working to ensure all round development "rather than the practices of regionalism, nepotism, casteism which prevailed in previous governments".
