To adopt an integrated approach for solid waste management, Haryana Government today divided 79 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of the state into 15 clusters.
The Urban Local Bodies Department has decided to adopt an integrated approach from collection to disposal of solid waste in ULBs, an official spokesperson said here today.
For this purpose, a single private agency would be given the responsibility of collection, source segregation, transportation, treatment and disposal of solid waste, she said.

Of these, 31,275 beneficiaries have been sanctioned, while 1,628 individual toilets were constructed, she said.
Besides, 1,692 community and public toilets were identified for construction and renovation, of which work on 253 have been completed, she said.
Officers had been directed to get toilets constructed in various markets in cities, she said, adding that currently, only 10 per cent of markets in the state have toilets.
Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, provision has been made for a budget of approximately Rs 149 crore, of which, Rs 89 crore would be borne by the State and the Centre would provide Rs 60 crore, the spokesperson added.
