A former state cabinet colleague of Bhupinder Singh Hooda today accused the ex-Haryana chief minister of corruption and called for a probe into the charges by an independent agency.

Capt Ajay Singh Yadav, during a visit to Chakarpur village here, said that state cabinet ministers in the previous Congress government, such as Rao Dan Singh, Rao Narendar Singh and MLA Rao Dharampal, along with many other leaders in the Hooda camp, obtained a number of fuel pump licenses and Change of Land Use certificates.

The five-time MLA said, "The ministers and relatives of Hooda were involved in obtaining fuel pump licenses and (CLU) certificates while he was the CM of the state."

"How come these leaders have a large number of movable and immovable property with each having become a millionaire?" he questioned while demanding an investigation by an independent agency into the assets.

Yadav also said that he played a role of "king maker" during 2005 Assembly election where he projected Hooda as the CM candidate.

"At the time of selection of CM post in 2005, I had opposed the selection of Bhajan Lal for the post of CM before the then Haryana in-charge Prithviraj Chavan and central leadership of Congress party.

"I had proposed the name of Hooda before central leadership and was hoping that he would not neglect six districts of Ahirwal and Mewat region," Yadav added.

Captain Ajay Singh Yadav, is a relative of Lalu Prasad Yadav.
