Haryana govt offices in poll areas to be closed on June 2

Haryana government offices, educations and other institutes in areas where municipal elections are scheduled will remain closed on June 2 to allow employees to cast their votes.

Boards and corporations situated in the jurisdiction of the areas will also remain closed, a government spokesman said today.

The holiday will be observed in the polling areas under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881, the spokesman said.

Polling is scheduled to be held in Municipal Corporations of Ambala, Panchkula, Karnal, Panipat, Hisar, Rohtak and Yamuna Nagar and municipal committees of Kalanaur and Farukh Nagar.

By-election in ward no 3 of municipal council, Narwana in Jind district and ward no 7 of municipal committee, Gharaunda in Karnal district will also be held.
