Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Ajit Singh today held the BJP-led Haryana government "responsible" for the recent violence in the state over Jat reservation issue.

"The Khattar-led government is responsible for the problems there," he alleged.

"The Jat community had to wage a struggle for reservation in Haryana ...Had the BJP government wanted, it could have solved the matter in a peaceful manner," Singh claimed.

Stating that reservation is the "right" of Jats and "they will take it", he alleged that peaceful protesters were fired upon as part of a conspiracy.

Hitting out at Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, the RLD president said, "Mulayam should forget that his party will return to power in Uttar Pradesh as people have realised that there is no difference between SP and BSP."

"People want change...A new party will uproot these parties...When followers of Ram Manohar Lohia and Chaudhary Charan Singh form a new party, people will show the door to Mulayam Singh and Mayawati," he said here.

Attacking RSS, Singh alleged, "Senior BJP and RSS leaders use social media to instigate riots and try to prove themselves as very pious among the public."

The RLD leader cautioned against "inflammatory messages" as, he claimed, efforts were on to "spoil the atmosphere".

He criticised the Union Budget and said the promise to double the income of farmers without making any budgetary provision is a "hollow promise".
