Haryana govt to close six toll plazas

Haryana Government today decided to close toll plazas on six roads in the state after Union Road Transport and Highways ministry declared them as National Highways.

Toll Plaza 1 (TP-1) on Gurgaon-Sohna road at KM 11 (near Badshahpur), TP-6 on Bahadurgarh-Jhajjar-Dadri-Loharu-Pilani road at RD 166 (near Rajasthan border) and TP-9 on Sardulgarh- Sirsa road (near Punjab border).

The other roads include TP-14 on UP Border-Sonepat-Gohana Road (near UP border), TP-16 on Sohana-Nuh-Ferozpur Zhirkha-Alwar Road (near Rajasthan Border) and TP-19 on Narnaul-Singhana Road (near Rajasthan Border), an official release said here.

The decision to close these toll plazas was taken at a meeting of Haryana Cabinet, which met here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
 

After the closure of toll points on these highways no toll would be levied on any vehicle crossing or using any toll facility on the Highways recently declared as National highways by Ministry of Roads Transport and Highways, the release said.

After the Cabinet meeting, Khattar while talking to reporters, said the decision of the state government to close the toll points would result in a loss of Rs 52 crore to the state ex-chequer.
