The decision was taken at a review meeting today in which Haryana Chief Secretary P K Chaudhery met the Apex Committee of State Water and Sanitation Mission to review the implementation of the Total Sanitation Campaign in the state.

Haryana has made remarkable achievements in this direction and has provided sanitation in over 90 per cent of BPL households, schools, anganwadis and community sanitary complexes, the Chief Secretary said.

The remaining targets would be completed in the current financial year under the Annual Implementation Plan, Chaudhery said.

He directed that the Village Water and Sanitation Committees be made functional within the next one month and create awareness in this regard.

He said there was urgent need to find solution to water scarcity problem and to examine all options for reuse of water. He emphasised on separating the supply of drinking water from gardening and sewer purposes.
