An awareness programme on prevention from diarrhoea will be launched by Haryana health department from July 27 across the state.
Under the programme 'Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) 2015' which will continue till August 8, parents of 25 lakh children upto the age of 5 would educated on prevention and protection from diarrhoea.
Accredited social health activists and anganwadi workers would visit all households to identify the sick children, Principal Secretary, Health, R R Jowel said here today.

During the first week, medicines would be provided to safeguard children against diarrhoea and to reduce the mortality rate and parents would be made aware to promote breast feeding.
During the second week, emphasis would be laid on improving eating habits of children, checking their weight and giving proper counseling to their parents of undernourished children.
He said that the IDCF 2015 programme would start at district and state level and it would be carried to village, municipality, municipal council and municipal corporation level.
Meetings of village health sanitation, nutrition and water committees would be organised in each village during the fortnight. Also, wall paintings regarding the importance of safe drinking water would be made, issue of open defecation and hygiene would be addressed, the Secretary said.
Jowel also said that rallies and competitions would be organised at schools regarding importance of hygiene, sanitation and safe drinking water.
