Haryana Health Minister Rao Narender Singh today said that it has been observed that majority of maternal and child deaths and still births remained unreported.

With this online project the Department could ensure that reporting of maternal and child deaths from all quarters was centralised through a single online software available to all departments.

It aimed at reducing systematic defects and gaps in reporting and services to make necessary administrative corrections and formulation of strategies to reduce Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR).

The minister said that such an information can be given by any citizen. It can also be reported at referral transport toll free number '102'.

Besides, the person who would report first will get Rs 100 as honorarium for each case reported.

Auxiliary Nursing Midwives (ANM), Anganwadi Workers (AWW), Civil Registration can give the information about maternal and infant death and still birth.

A committee has been constituted in each district to review the maternal and infant death at facility level and community level for more focused and area specific approach to deal with this issue.
