Haryana Minister of State for Food and Supplies Karan Dev Kamboj today said the state government will procure 35 lakh metric tonne of paddy out of expected arrival of 36 lakh tonne in the current kharif season.
Kamboj said to facilitate the farmers, efforts would be made to start early procurement of paddy so that farmers get an opportunity to sell their produce at an appropriate time.
He said that the remaining about one lakh metric tonne of paddy is expected to be procured by private millers.

About two lakh bales would be required for the purchase of about 35 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, he said.
The Minister said the state government will also procure about one lakh metric tonnes of bajra for distribution under Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS).
Kamboj said that the state government also decided to procure maize for distribution under TPDS and other welfare schemes.
The procured maize would be distributed at the scale of five kg per ration card during the month of November 2015.
